For a fairly thin book it took me quite a while to finish. With a slow start, and a lota jib-jabbering about heaven i thought that it would be one of those light books and i put it down and started to read another book. However i have a certain distaste for leaving a book unread or in this case only partially read, so after a mountain of books i went back to it. After a few chapters i really got into it and could not leave it rest.
The Lovely Bones is a book that can fall in a variety of baskets, theres a little something in there for everyone.
Would i recommend this book?..Yes. Its enlightening and requires attention and thought. It makes you think about your life and what would you do if you were on one side of the window while everyone else you have ever cared for is on the otherside, where they cant hear you or see you.
Peace to my literature lovers

i haven't read this book, i have heard all about it & i know a lot of people that have read it (including my mother) but i haven't found myself diving in yet.
ReplyDeletei actually thought that the awful (but great) movie "i know who killed me" (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0897361/) w/ lindsay lohan was supposed to be a movie version of this, but i guess it wasn't (now i hear they are making a Lovely Bones movie - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0380510/)
i think i might read it, but i'm a little nervous (i have a tendency to scare easily!)
if you haven't read them yet, read Weetzie Bat (& the other Dangerous Angels books) by Francesca Lia Block & Invisible Monsters by Chuck Palahniuk (& also Snuff & Choke by him too)
