The Girlfriend Curse - Valerie Frankel

Rate - 7/10

Age Rate - 16 and upwards

I rate this book 16 and upwards because there are some quite graphic parts to this novel that i think are a tidge too explicit for the younger eyes. Where the rosy cheeks will glow red.

I must say i was addicted to this book. It kept me reading, i could not put it down even though i was repeatedly called 'rude' for not doing so.

This woman goes through what all of us experience at least once in our sexual lives. Being unwanted. Then praised by x's for it. I could relate to her. Frankel's writing is gripping but still down to earth. Its nothing fancy, its bare with meat.

I would recommend. (:

My Sisters Keeper - Jodi Picoult

My Sisters Keeper - The Film [Starring Cameron Diaz]

Rate - [Book] 9/10

Rate - [Film] 10/10

Age Rates - 12 and upwards

Oh dear lord, if you haven't picked up on this Picoult craze, you must live in a box. Shes the hottest author of today. I for one and a huge fan, i love her style of writing which keeps you on your toes and the questions her books faces you with.

Although i did watch the film first, i did still expect the book to be just as good if not better. I was wrong. I cried my heart out with my sister at the cinema. I really did. However the book, it just didn't do it for me. Well as much as the film. I still recommend this book and any other of her books. She writes for anyone and its great. Its the kind of book that you can pick up and put down, ideal for traveling and the lark.

Some may disagree with me but its my opinion so screw you (:

Definitely recommend both the film and the book !

love and peace and soul (:

The Lovely Bones - Alice Sebold

''Heaven is different to everyone''

Rate - 7/10

Age Rate - 15 and upwards

For a fairly thin book it took me quite a while to finish. With a slow start, and a lota jib-jabbering about heaven i thought that it would be one of those light books and i put it down and started to read another book. However i have a certain distaste for leaving a book unread or in this case only partially read, so after a mountain of books i went back to it. After a few chapters i really got into it and could not leave it rest.

The Lovely Bones is a book that can fall in a variety of baskets, theres a little something in there for everyone.

Would i recommend this book?..Yes. Its enlightening and requires attention and thought. It makes you think about your life and what would you do if you were on one side of the window while everyone else you have ever cared for is on the otherside, where they cant hear you or see you.

Peace to my literature lovers

Kissed by an Angel - Elizabeth Chandler

Hmm i think it's time for another love story.

Rate - 7/10

Age Rate - 12 and upwards

This book is split up in to 3 books. Each of them ending on a cliff hanger, thank God its all in one book eh! This book is about the everlasting love between Ivy and Tristan, which lasts till after death. After a devestating car crash leaving Tristan dead Ivy is left with a lost faith and a new family to cope with.

I found that this book was great to read on the plane. I couldnt stop and it made the time go by quicker than had thought it would. Its the kinda book thats easy going but not at loss for a good mystery murder and the such. If your a slow reader then you could finnish this within a week but thats only if your a bloody slow reader ! haha

peace!

Uglies/Pretties/Specials and Extras - Scott Westerfeld

This series changed my life. Period.

and

Rate - 9/10

Age Rate - 10 and upwards

This series follows the life of Tally. Once and ordinary world until everything changed. For the good? Who knows. With the exemption of Extras we follow Tally on her adventures from school pranks to saving the world and we are shown the different lives the future holds for us all. I hated how Westerfeld left you on a cliff-hanger a the end of every book. Which forced those who were silly enough not to buy them all at the same time, to wait until they had bought it. I was one of the clever ones and was glad i had the next in the sequel to carry on.

These books are out of this world and take quite a getting used to but once your in there its damn hard to get out and soon your using made up words that you have read like ''bubbly''. ' That was totally dizzy making'

Extras is a little different from the others. it is still classed as part of the series but only just as the book doesn't follow Tally which i was most dis-pleased about. However its jam-packed full of mystery and adventure pulling you in with each flick of the page.

Totally bubbly making guys. go read !

Peace

A Thousand Splendid Suns - Khaled Hosseini

I have only just finished this book, and as it is fresh in my mind i thought it best to tell you all about it.

Rate - 8/10

Age Rate - 15 and upwards

What an emotional book. Full of twists and turns that are so subtle you sometimes don't even notice them. .This book is written from the views of two woman Mariam and Leila. Two women who lived in separate worlds who held different futures in their hands, who's lives were suddenly pulled together by the twist of faith and Hosseinis incredible writing.

This book had a knack of making me take check of my life and have a look at all the things that i take for granted. It really put things into perspective.

I would not recommend this book for someone under the age of 15 for the reason that there are topics that i wouldn't think are suitable for younger eyes, and there are some parts that are too graphic. But it is a recommendation only so don't take it to heart.

Love to all the literature lovers out there from Casper.

The Boy in Stripped Pyjamas - John Boyne

Today i finished reading a very moving book.

Rate - 10/10

Age Rate - 9 and upwards

I read this book only recently on recommendations from someone who doesn't read much, and that was saying something. She said that out of the very few books she had read that this one was one that had made the biggest impression.

As the book is very thin, with big print that matches the Juvenal voice throughout the book. Therefore i read this book within a day. And i was not disappointed. All through the book you are guided by nine year old Bruno. Son of Commandment. Naive of every devastating thing that happens round him. He makes friends with 'The Boy in Stripped Pyjamas'. This friendship leads to a poignant ending. That had me in tears.

The book keeps you young at heart but tells the tale of such an awful time in history. The holocaust. And how a friendship can build and break walls.

I am tearing up with just thinking about it.

With everything i have inside me i advise that you read this book if you have not yet and if you are disappointed then take it up with me. Because i believe that it is so important that we dont forget everything that happened and try to keep such racism from happening again today or in the future. From a small seed grows a powerful oak tree.

Thankyou for reading.

Twilight series - Stephanie Meyer

Here i am going to blog on those famous teenage girl crazed books.

Rate - 10/10

Age Rate - 12 and upwards [especially for the 4th book]

I really loved these books and i would say that every girl on this planet would, she be 12 or 20. Utterly gripping and totally un-putdownable. From the very first book you are sucked into Bellas life syle and soon wishing you lived it. Falling in love with Edward Cullen is a easy as finnishing a bar of chocolate without noticing you've started it!

I read this book and recomended it to a dubious 20 something sister of mine and soon enough she had read them all within 3 days and had started to reread them.

Meyer has created a world for us that arn't even into this werewolves and vampires and made us wish it to be real. The sense of excitment and adventure sucks us into her books along side Bella, Edward and Jacob, we are all made to choose a side. Have you chosen yours?

Edward forever for me ! HAha.

Tell me what you think (:

Love to all literature lovers out there from Casper the book Worm !

The Great Gatsby - F.Scott.Fitzgerald

Today i think i shall tell you all who have not read it, about a book yet again,

about lovers.

Rate - 6/10

Age Rate - 14 and upwards

At first i was a bit dubious about this book, it was quite thin and looked an easy read. However i read it and found that it had quite a deeper meaning that you don't realise whilst reading at the time. Quite odd to say the least but classified as a monumental piece of writing.

This book shows the lives that the elite live and the endless parties and trouble they weave themselves out of. The two lovers however i thought didnt display such a great bond as you would have thought, there was not a big enough build up of the history of the two but maybe that iswhy they were so great together, there will always be something, that everyone else misses, in a relationship.

The ending is a shock, of something so blase' , comes something so devestating a lead of events and makes you scream with frustration. Well i did anyway.

Tell me what you think and if i did/n't persuade you to read it.

Pride and prejudice - Jane Austin

To begin i think i shall start my review blog with a book called...

Rate - 9/10

Age Rate - 12 and over

One of the most well written novella romanticas i have ever read. I absolutely adored it. Although slightly hard to get into at first, once you have a grip on the language and the characters you begin to relate with them and feel for them. Austin's great use of a quick-witted young woman in this time, Elizabeth Bennet encourages the reader to relate and understand and automatically like especially when read by the 20th century generation.

The relation developed between Mr Darcy and Elizabeth is gripping and romantic and totally absurd. Setting the standard for men today way up high. But we love it anyway and dream of coming across a man like this to sweep us off our feet and wash away the snide comments from disaprovers.

In my opinion this is a book that you must read at least once in your life-time. Its great for picking up before you go to bed or whipping out on a long journey on the train, that way too you look smart and sophisticated !!

Tell me what you think, and if i have or haven't persuaded you ! (:
